"We have got some fantastic talent in valleys and we need everyone to see it at the highest level. I want to say a massive thank you to the RCT for giving this opportunity..."

The Association is delighted to announce that Mr Phillip Evans has been appointed as the new Head of Development Pathway.

Phil is already with RCTSFA as one of our lead coaches for the U8s development squad; he is also part of the coaching team at the rapidly expanding Porth Harlequins BGC .

As a football man through and through, Phil has been in game from his time in secondary school and then later represented Treorchy BGC at U17s and at senior level; before later taking up the tactics board as a coach. On his appointment, Phil underlined his passion for developing the next generation of RCT footballers:

"I absolutely love coaching. Especially at this age watching them develop and getting the best out of your players is what it’s all about for me as a coach. So when my youngest boy showed interest in playing for the RCT I jumped at the chance to coach for them. RCTSFA and I shared all the values in the way we offer young children the opportunity to show their true potential within such a supportive environment. We have got some fantastic talent in valleys and we need everyone to see it at the highest level. I want to say a massive thank you to the RCT for giving this opportunity as head of development and I’m really looking forward to getting started."

RCTSFA Secretary, Nicohla Scorey, warmly welcomed the appointment, who will succeed her in this pivotal position at Committee level:

"I am delighted that Phillip Evans has stepped up to take over the role of Head of the Development Pathway. He brings a wealth of coaching experience and is passionate about developing our young players. I know he has lots of new & exciting ideas on how to keep improving the Development Pathway, and I look forward to working with Phillip and supporting him in nurturing the next generation of RCT talent. He will be a great asset to the association."
