Brian Hughes has tonight retired as General Secretary of RCTSFA, following a 38 year tenure in the position. Mr Hughes joined the Association in 1982 as Assistant Secretary and has been a firm part of the architecture even since.
RCTSFA Chairman, Mr Ceri Jones, paid tribute to Mr Hughes, "Brian's contribution to schools football in RCT and beyond, is quite remarkable. Such a tenure speaks to Brian's extraordinary commitment and passion for schools football; he will leave a huge legacy. The modern day RCTSFA is in such a strong position, and we will owe Brian a huge debt of gratitude for all that he has done for the Association over decades; I know current and former RCTSFA players will share this sentiment too."
Mr Hughes who will remain as a Committee member, has been replaced as General Secretary by Mr Cori Mabey, Head of PE at Treorchy Comprehensive. Also joining the RCTSFA Committee this season is Mr Matthew Jones (Treorchy) who is our new Head of Boys Football. Two outstanding leadership appointments as the Association ushers in a new era.
