At our 20/21 AGM, the Association made the latest key appointment to our Committee with the confirmation that Mrs Martine James will be our new Head of Primary Schools for the 21/22 season.
Mrs James, of Hirwaun Primary School, will lead our engagement with Primary Schools on a range of different activities including the Primary 5s festivals, trials & nominations and the development of a network of like minded primary school teachers across RCT to drive forward the development of schools football within the county.
On her appointment, Mrs James outlined some of her ambitions and plans for the role, "I am excited to be part of a successful association and hope to bring a friendly and open personality to our players, parents, coaches and schools. It will be part of my adventure to blend together a fun atmosphere with a focus on team spirit and connection with everyone.
Promoting football is a commitment of mine and encouraging young girls in particular to discover and follow their passion in sport is high on my agenda in school as Leader of Health and Wellbeing, and outside school as exercise, connectivity and community will benefit all our lives.
In our training sessions, games, meetings and communications with parents in recent weeks, it’s obvious that children are at the heart of our association. It’s also very rewarding and heartwarming to see pupils from different schools and areas coming together with mutual respect and being able to thrive in an environment where their enthusiasm for football is fully supported, encouraged and developed."
The Chair of RCTSFA, Ceri Jones, welcomed the appointment as another significant step forward for the Association, "Mrs James has already made such a positive impact on our organisation -her enthusiasm and commitment for the development of our footballers is infectious; I have no doubt she will be a huge asset to our committee and our players we continue to grow and strengthen and prosper"
