"As one era ends, then another one begins - it is also symbolic and significant that we have appointed our first ever female Secretary"

The Association can confirm that Mr Cori Mabey has regrettably stepped down from the role as Secretary of RCTSFA due to work commitments, Mr Mabey, of Treorchy Comprehensive School, succeeded Mr Brian Hughes as Secretary in July 2023. In addition to his role as Secretary of RCTSFA, Cori has also led the WSFA National Squads at U16s within a coaching capacity.

As one era ends, then another one begins, with the swift appointment of Ms Nichola Scorey, as our new Secretary. Ms Scorey was our first ever Head of Development Pathway and under her leadership our development provision has grown significantly with enhanced opportunities for boys and girls within the Association,

Ceri Jones, Chairman of RCTSFA, underlined the importance of the changes; "Firstly I would like to personally thank Cori for his contribution to the Association and to wider schools football across RCT. I know this has been a difficult decision for him but our professional careers must take precedence but I sincerely hope that Cori will continue to have some involvement with RCTSFA moving forward. We have been very fortunate to find a ready made replacement in Nichola who is already on our committee and has demonstrated excellent leadership skills within her Development portfolio. It is important that we retain the strongest link between the Secretary role and the teaching profession and this appointment ensures this continuity - it is also symbolic and significant that we have appointed our first ever female Secretary at a time when female football at RCTSFA has never been stronger with our burgeoning participation rates."

Ms Scorey, of Caegarw Primary School, is very much looking forward to hew new role, " I feel extremely privileged to have been offered this role as I'll be the first ever female secretary of RCTSFA. I see it as a wonderful opportunity to drive forward the Association so we're able to continue to thrive and offer the best experience to all of our young players."

Ms Scorey can be contacted directly via her new Association email address secretary@rctschoolsfa.co.uk
